Location of Number 61 Tynemouth
Number 61 Guest house and tea rooms is located on Front Street in the centre of the beautiful village of Tynemouth and is very conveniently located to explore the wonderful Northumbrian coastline and countryside as well as the vibrant city of Newcastle upon Tyne and the quayside of Gateshead.

Tynemouth is an area of outstanding natural beauty with stunning beaches permitting a wide range of water sports, including surfing, sailing, wind surfing, jetski, sub-aqua, swimming and canoeing. Prominent on the headland overlooking the river are the Tynemouth Priory and Castle, dating back to the 11th Century. The village itself is now a conservation area mostly comprised of buildings from the 18th and 19th Century.
Getting to Tynemouth...
By Metro
The Metro station in Tynemouth is just off Manor Road which is connected to Front Street (the main shopping street in Tynemouth) and is approximately 200 metres from Number 61.

The Metro links Tynemouth to other local areas such as Whitley Bay, Newcastle, Gateshead, Sunderland and also provides a direct link to Newcastle Airport and Central Station.

By Car
From the South, head North through the Tyne Tunnel (A19) follow the A19 up to the A1058 coast road, head towards Tynemouth, follow this road down to the coast and turn right along the seafront until you reach Front Street with the Priory on your left.

From Newcastle simply head towards the coast on the Coast Road (A1058) and follow the same instructions above.

Number 61 is located about half way up Front Street on the left hand side driving away from the Priory.

On street parking is available outside of Number 61. There is a charge of 60p an hour between 9.00am - 5.30pm with overnight parking free.

We are a great resting place for Coast to Coast Cycle route enthusiasts and visitors to Hadrians Wall.
